, to me, has been the “face” of the Kinja team for as long as Kinja’s been Kinja-ing. About half of the times I’d submit a ticket via e-mail to Kinja Support, Ernie would be first to respond. But on many occasions, he’d pop up right there in the comment sections to help troubleshoot. His presence “in the trenches” as it were, showed an eagerness to put things right. Through our seemingly unending frustrations with Kinja, Ernie was always polite and patient. I’m gonna miss him.

I’m surprised he stuck around as long as he did. Kinja was Nick’s pet project, and they developed the shit out of it until Gawker went down. To stay on board maintaining a platform that was never quite finished must have been tough.

If I remember right Kinja was the outgrowth of Gizmodo not being able to easily keep their big iPhone story at the top of the page. Yet another reason to hate Apple.

Didn’t expect the iPhone to have anything do to with this. :)
I thought
it was
Nick trying to develop a blog platform to sell to others.
